My Comeback After Taking a Blogging Break

Hey guys!

So being on a hiatus for more than a year, I'm back to blogging scene! 

That's right! 

I have relocated from Malacca to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to embark on a new journey, just so you know ALOT has happened and I'm pretty sure you know about COVID-19. The entire country is on lockdown after lockdown, people are dying from this deadly virus, some are facing serious financial problem that leads to bankruptcy, etc. 


So, going back to my comeback ( wow! LOL ). I don't know how to start this post so I guess I'll just try to re-introduce myself to both old and new visitors ( wow! LOL ). But I'll give it some twist. Because a lot has happened since my last post, it's needless to say that a lot of unexpected things also happened that definitely changed my life and made me who and where I am today. 


Who Am I ? 


I'm Isabelle. I started blogging since I was in high school. Back then I used Blogspot and Tabulas to publish my blogs. All of my entries were very journal-slash-diary-like, full of embarrassing and mediocre contents. Eventos que suceden en mi vida, cuando estoy en la escuela o cuando estoy enamorado. Lol. Honestly, I don't remember most of them anymore. All I know is that I was blogging to put my thoughts in writing, to brain vomit, and maybe eventually to read my mind out loud. Ever since I was a kid, I know I have a knack for writing. ( Fun fact : I won first place for an essay writing contest when  I was in grade school ). I find writing as a form of therapy. I like listening to my thoughts and turning them into words. So yeah, this whole blogging thing really started as a hobby. It still is. 


Why The Break ? 


Honestly, there's so many reason why I had to take a break from blogging. I guess the logical reason is me being so caught up with family drama, with work, I also had to prioritize. Would I rather spend my time writing ( recreationally ) when I can use that time to spend it with my family? Or to earn money? Let's be real. If you have bills to pay, a big chunk of your time goes to whatever makes it worth your while to earn a big fat check. 


What Were The Unexpected Changes That Happened To My Life ? How Would They Effect My Blog? 


Okay, just a quick background. When I first published this blogsite, my tagline was "Story by MsKimBerry" I was then on my late 20's. Traveling is one of the things I love doing so I anchored most of my blog theme within the travel and lifestyle niche.  I had so much in store for you, my readers. Until the hiatus. 

So since then, besides my age (LOL), what else has changed? Let's make a list : 


  • MY FAMILY.  Yes, after my third mother passed away 2015, both of my mother aren't as healthy as they were. First mother, dementia and lung tumor. Second mother, dementia. First mother memory became weaker, she'd repeatedly said the same sentences/words, wouldn't remember what happened / what has been said 5 mins ago. Second mother, she does not know how to wear her clothes and having difficulties in walking. Me and the aunts/ cousins are very much estranged despite they're the one often times have helped me get through the toughest time. 
  • MY LIFE. Jobless throughout pandemic, anxiety and depression got me worst especially staying home with family that does not understand what mental illness is and how it can effect a person's daily life. Is a little messy I must say especially witnessing how my mother changed in front of me, from as healthy as she used to be till an eye full sadness and an eye seeking for answers to what have happened to her. Kills me that I wasn't capable enough to provide better care for her as to repay all her hardwork for raising a hotheaded child like me. 
  • MY CAREER. From being a full-time office worker with a part-time freelance jobs on the side, to being a couch potato due to COVID-19. Thanks to god, I am now back to being a full-time office worker. Working at a Digital Marketing Firm. Our company does graphic and web designs, WordPress, e-Commerce and all those online stuff that help scale your business. Why Am I Blogging Again ? 


Short Answer : Because I love writing. 


As long as I can write, I will always try to find time to write / blog about stuff, my travels. my thoughts, ideas, or anything  under the sun that I find relevant and helpful to you all. I hope you continue to join me on this journey. Til my next post. Ciao!
