First Time Break Up And The Act Of Forgiveness

Image
I want to dedicate this article to all of them, who have gone through this heartbreaking moment in their life. I know such incidents can leave you socially paralyzed! The feeling of rejection or being devalued can be the worst emotion anybody would ever experience. It's not the time to peek into your past and feel guilt-ridden about anything, rather feel proud about your patience and courage. You have already proved your worth by forgiving the person and moving ahead in your life. It takes a lot of courage and will power to say good-bye.  Any normal human being would consider me insane, if I say, 'surviving a breakup could be the best thing happened to you, because it takes you to a new milestone of possibility.' You may not even read beyond this this line. But trust me! Life is giving you another chance to live your dreams. God has the best plan for you. It is your life and nobody else should control it! This is the only way you can know that emotional pain of heartbr...

Women and Happiness : Being Happy From the Inside Out

Image
Happiness is an attitude necessary for living. For every woman, it is the right to live a happy life. The happier we are the productive and effective our acts will be! But with the growing personal and career demands, happiness is almost declining in woman's life.  Our happiness is honest than our words. I never wanted my happiness to have some reasons. I love being happy for no reason - most of the times. I am a woman. I have limitations, commitments, social and personal responsibilities, job need; wish for a good life, but many more reasons can become a challenge to my happiness. But I learned not to sacrifice the very feeling of staying happy to anything else in my life. Happiness is, to like what you have, while waiting for your dreams, wishes to get fulfilled.  Most of the times, our happiness depends upon external factors like : partner, kids, friends, family, job, social relationship and personal challenges. Life is about discovering your happiness in spite o...

What You Don't Know About Me

"Letting go doesn't mean giving up, but rather accepting that there are things that cannot be. "  You two are family. Maybe you grew up with them and were by their side for a huge chunk of their life. There was a lot of laughing, crying, and sharing. Some fighting too.  You know how their brain works probably better than anyone else. But sometimes, in adulthood, those closest to you can become unrecognizable -- estranged, cold, and careless. For no apparent reason, you find yourself shut out of their life. Your peace-feelers are increasingly rejected. You've been left out in the cold.  There is always a reason why people turn out the way they do. But, sometimes the metamorphosis is so gradual that it sneaks up on you, and one day, you wake up and wonder, "How did it come to this?"  You want them back. So you start to question and blame yourself. Was it the time I chose to go to the party instead of being home with my mother? Was it when I to...

Your Spiritual Journey : Does It Matter What You Believe?

Image
Are you tired of feeling the void within your spirit? Have you tried to find that lasting satisfaction but failed? Do you ever wonder if the person at the desk next to you believes in a higher power? Does your neighbor think there is life after death? Do members of your family pray?  Most everyone has some view of spirituality. More often than not it is unspoken and held silently. Many have questions. Some don't believe at all. However, the majority of people living on earth today believe in the supernatural in some form. Many claim to have "faith"  yet never enter a church. Many pray, often in times of desperation. Yet others feel prayer is a false hope.  Powerful stories of unanswered prayer have come down through the ages and the generations. The question of faith is an intensely personal one. Each one of us decides in our own heart if we will believe in God, the universe connected by some obscure power, or if we will reach to other forms of spirituality....

Power Of Thoughts

Image
The most powerful force in the world is not a person. It is not a machine, a company or a Government either. The most powerful force in the world is the humble thought. The power of thoughts cannot be overestimated. Every great, or terrible, thing which has happened in the world began as a single solitary thought. Politicians, charities, salesmen, marketers, and many more professions rely on their ability to influence a person's thought. If you can successfully achieve that, you can influence them to do just about anything that you want. The power of thoughts and their ability to influence has been demonstrated through many good things e.g. the downfall of apartheid. Unfortunately, the power of thoughts has also been used to influence some of the worst atrocities known to man e.g. Nazism. On an individual level, your thoughts can empower you to achieve great things or to crush your dreams and cause you great pain and suffering. The choice is yours.  Understanding the power...

The N-word

Image
"If thought corrupts language, language can also corrupt thought"  This quote by George Orwell rings as true as it did 70 years ago.  When I heard one of my friend, whom happened to be a Chinese,  uses the phrase "n**** in the woodpile", he called it a joke, it made me wonder: How often does he use it? Why does he think it's acceptable? Does his choice of language reflect his own deep-seated opinions of black people? How come he felt so comfortable saying such a phrase among other of my friend whom are Africans, who seemingly said nothing in response? Will less-informed people now think it's OK to use this term after hearing a Chinese man use it so nonchalantly?  All these questions are yet to be answered.  Mankind has used language since the dawn of time as a means of communication and expression. We've seen words come and go. Some words have had the ability to change an entire society. The N-word is no different.  ( An incident tod...

A Letter To My Mama In Heaven ..

Image
Every person gets a different amount of time in this life with their mother and everyone has an entirely different relationship with them.  My time with my mother was cut short and I didn't get to have her as long as I would have liked. She got diagnosed with advanced cancer with right breast, and she passed away 2 and half years ago, November 17, 10:10 am.  My years with my mother were short, wasted my time being rebellious, reckless, how dumb I was. If only I knew..  I lost way more than just my mother when she died. I did not get the chance to hugged her one last time as I get the news 3 days later after she had passed. That moment when I finally got my mobile phone from the workshop (the screen cracked and I was phone-less, family members were trying to reached me. There is one message with a voice-mail "her voice" ). I lost all of these things wrapped into one. I find myself talking to my mother all of the time, hoping that she can hear me...

A Letter To My Broken Heart: You Will Love Again One Day

Image
I know it hurts.  And I don't know what else to say other than I'm sorry. I'm sorry for the sadness that paralyzes you; the sadness that makes you feel like you're pushing yourself forward just to go through the motions.  I am sorry for the pain that stings you, and makes you feel like I am pouring salt right onto your open wounds. I am sorry for the doubt that plagues you; the doubt that makes you feel like love is a risk that's no longer worth taking.  I feel like it's my fault.  I tried for a really long time to protect you; I built a wall as high as those that rise up around castles, strong and thick enough to keep a tempest of emotions at bay. I promised you that I would keep you safe, that I wouldn't let harm come your way, that no one could get in unless we really wanted him to -- unless we were ready.  But how prepared could we have been? It happened all in the blink of an eye, and suddenly there was this new warmth to you,...
